POLICY

Our Studio Policy for Private Lessons is designed to support everyone involved—students, parents, and teachers—making sure that lessons go as smoothly and happily as possible. Keep in mind that although these policies are important, music lessons are also meant to be fun and inspiring experiences that help you learn and grow.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
● Students must arrive on time with their music and assignment notebooks. NOTE: No food or drink is allowed in the lesson room except water.
● Regular attendance is essential for musical development.
● Students should practice regularly, be ready to learn, and communicate their needs or questions with their teacher or guardian.
STUDENT MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH REQUEST: We’re committed to offering caring and informed instruction while ensuring a safe studio environment. Please share any mental or physical conditions that might affect your student so we can best support them.

ENROLLMENT AND BILLING
PAYMENTS (For your convenience, there are several payment options)
1. Online transfer through your studio account.
2. CREDIT CARD PAYMENT. Tuition payments are processed via credit card auto-debit on the 1st of each month. All payment information must be received upon registration to confirm a lesson time. It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to inform the studio of any change to their credit card account number and/or expiration date.
3. Zelle online payment: Use the email for the quick transaction (zaravmusic@gmail.com)
4. Checks: Please make checks payable to Zara-V Studio or pay in cash.
The Regular Monthly Payment plan is due on the first day of each month. If a payment is missed, we may suspend lessons until the outstanding balance is settled. Please make your payments on time to avoid disruptions.

MONTHLY WEEKLY LESSONS PLAN is for students who wish to reserve a dedicated time slot on the teacher’s weekly schedule. The student should be enrolled for at least one month. Regular Monthly Payment Plan (billed on the first day of the month; the total monthly amount depends on the number of lessons, no less than 3 lessons in a month)
30 minutes: $35              45 minutes: $45             60 minutes: $55

PLEASE NOTE: PAYMENTS ARE DUE ON THE 1ST OF EACH MONTH.
WITHDRAWAL AND REFUNDS: To withdraw from lessons, call 847-687-1524 or email zaravmusic@gmail.com. If you cancel your enrollment on or after the date of your first scheduled lesson of the month, no refund or credit will be issued for unused or make-up lessons. Note that upon withdrawal, the student’s lesson date and time are completely released.

SINGLE LESSONS are for students who prefer the flexibility of scheduling each lesson individually and are at a rate of $80 per hour. Payment is due at the time the lesson is scheduled. Lesson bookings are made one at a time, subject to teacher availability, and without a guaranteed regular time slot.

ATTENDANCE: Cancellation / Make-up Policies
At Zara-V Music Studio, we prioritize regular attendance at lessons. We firmly believe that consistent participation is crucial for a student's musical development. Your dedication to attending every scheduled lesson not only fulfills a requirement but also demonstrates how much you value your musical journey.

CANCELLATIONS. In the event of a cancellation, please notify Zara-V Music Studio as soon as possible by phone at 847-687-1524.
MAKE-UP LESSONS. For cancellations with 24 hours’ notice or more, a weekly student may take up to 2 make-up lessons within a rolling 6-month period. Make-up lessons are subject to teacher availability, and the studio reserves the right to conduct them over Zoom if necessary. Students have 60 days from the time of cancellation to make up a lesson.
NOTE: A canceled make-up lesson cannot be made up.
NOTE: Withdrawal from lessons immediately renders any pending make-up lesson(s) unusable.

CONSECUTIVE PLANNED ABSENCES. If a student has multiple consecutive scheduled absences, Zara-V Music Studio's billing will continue without interruption unless the student withdraws. (See WITHDRAWAL AND REFUNDS above.) If a former student re-enrolls, their previous lesson date/time and rate are not guaranteed.

LATE CANCELLATIONS. Make-up lessons require at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations due to illness or emergencies may be eligible for a make-up if notice is given by the day of the lesson and before the scheduled time.

TEACHER ABSENCES. If a teacher is absent, a substitute will be provided during the usual lesson time. If arranging a substitute isn't possible, a make-up lesson will be scheduled.

TARDINESS OR ARRIVING SICK. If a student is 15 minutes late or more, the teacher will automatically dismiss them, and the lesson won't qualify for a make-up. Students running late should call the studio to inform them whether they will attend. If a student arrives ill, the teacher may decide not to conduct the lesson and send the student home. In this situation, no credit will be given for the missed lesson.

MATERIALS: Additional materials are not part of the tuition. Students should bring all necessary items to their lessons, including assigned music, a lesson notebook, and a pencil. A few assigned books are available at the studio if students forget to bring their materials.

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS: There are no classes on public holidays, and no makeup classes are scheduled if your lesson falls on a public holiday.
